Summer Lovin' Blog Hop!

Thanks for joining me today to celebrate Rebel Ink Press's 3rd Anniversary! Rebel is the home of the first two books in my historical erotic romance trilogy Resistance Book One-The Arrangement and Book Two-The Affair. The subject matter is definitely provocative, a Nazi Officer working with the German Resistance to destroy Hitler falls in love with a young Jewish woman in the Auschwitz concentration camp. Lesser publishers had shied away from such controversial subject matter, but true to their name, not Rebel! I'm so proud to have them be the home for this powerful trilogy and hope you'll check out my series, along with the other compelling, passionate, scorching romances Rebel has to offer!

Now, today's celebration is all about the joys of summer, and what's says summer more than swimwear!
No, ladies, not OUR swimwear, as that's hardly a pleasant topic as anyone who as actually tried ON a one or two piece can attest, but male swimwear!

Yes, there. That's better isn't it?

What's your favorite kind of swimwear on a guy? Maybe some visual aids will help you decide?

I'm sorry...what was the question? Oh, right! So which is your favorite type of bathing suit on a guy? Let me know in the comments and you'll be entered to win an ebook copy of Resistance Book One-The Arrangement!

Elsa Mostek is a young Jewish woman who is forced to move with her family from the Warsaw Ghetto in Poland to the Auschwitz concentration camp in 1943. She immediately draws the attention of Nazi Officer Friedrich Weiss who inexplicably shows favor towards her and helps her escape harm many times thanks to the power he wields in the camp. Aware that many of her fellow female prisoners are bartering their bodies for survival and in desperation to save her starving family, Elsa makes an offer to Friedrich.

What Elsa does not know is that Friedrich is a spy with the German Resistance that has infiltrated the Nazi regime. He must keep up the pretense of loyalty to Hitler's cause as he sends secrets to those on the outside.

Friedrich doesn't want to take advantage of Elsa but can't help wanting her. As the misery of his position increases, she offers him the only light left in a world of darkness and despite his best intentions, Friedrich gives in to her offer. Passion explodes between them, giving them a reprieve from the monstrous world they inhabit, though both know it can never last.

But that's not all you can win! Don’t forget to hit the Rafflecopter up for a chance to win either a Kindle Paperwhite or a swag basket chock full of Rebel Ink Press author swag. Love On The Beach Blog Hop

Thanks for joining me here for Beachwalk Press's Love On The Beach Blog Hop!

I'm from Toronto, Canada and our summer is always cause for celebration considering how damn cold our winters can get! Sometimes, it feels like we're giving Russia a run for their money! We're so desperate for summer that as soon as the temperature gets above 0 degrees Celsius many will break out the flip flops!

But everyone knows, summer doesn't really start until you hear that one thing… that one thing that you've been waiting for since the temperatures starting dropping in September, and didn't start rising again until March, (sometimes April!)

The sound of the ice cream truck.

I heard it for the first time a few weeks ago and my heart filled with glee! Slushies, banana splits, chocolate dipped, chocolate/vanilla twists, snow cones!

I'm partial to the chocolate/vanilla twist myself. We've just spent six months suffering through a god awful winter and what's the first thing we run towards as soon as we can? The ice cream truck. Lol! Because as brutal as the winters get, that's how blistering our summers get.

Our beaches open up, but only a few of them are actually used for swimming because of environmental concerns which is sad, but after suffering through October to April, we're more than happy to just sit there and revel in the sun…while eating our ice cream.

As a part of the hop, I'm giving away a mini author swag pack that includes an ebook copy of my contemporary erotic romance with Beachwalk Press, Strawberry Wine along with a small E. Jamie tote bag and a bookmark. I'd first heard of Beachwalk Press after seeing their ad in a copy of RT magazine and I fell in love with their covers! I knew many of their authors online and heard so many wonderful stories about BWP that I knew I wanted them to be the home for Strawberry Wine.

Can these ex-lovers work together to save New York City's children?

Caleb and Laura were teenage sweethearts, poised on the edge of a beautiful future, then without explanation, Laura walked out. Now both are cops and have been partnered up to bring down a notorious criminal who is exploiting New York City's innocent children. Can they put aside old hurts to save the children, and will the flames of rekindled passion be enough to give their love a second chance?

https://www.allromanceebooks.com/product-strawberrywine-1062434-149.html

Along with my prize, The grand prize is a Kindle Paperlight!
Additional prizes include:
* A beach tote bag filled with Beachwalk Press print books (winner's choice of 5 print titles)
* Two gift certificates of $25 each (winners' choice of GC from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or All Romance Ebooks)

Every entry at a participating blog is an entry for the grand prize so make sure to hit everyone's blogs listed here between July 1st to the 14th:
and comment WITH your e-maill addy to be entered to win not only the grand prize, but that individual author's prize too at their blog!

To win my author swag pack, leave me a comment with your email addy and tell me what your favourite ice cream flavour is! And if you happen to not like ice cream… (yes those people do exist!) What's your favourite summertime treat?

Happy Release Day! Playground Of The Gods

Just listened to the audio preview for the audio book version of Playground Of The Gods. SO cool! Should be up on Audible between 2-4 weeks! The ebook version is available on Amazon right now!
The Gods give two wary lovers a nudge in the right direction.

Luke and Megan are fighter pilots and soldiers fighting side by side to find a new home for their lost people. They have loved each other for years, but neither will admit it for fear of betraying the memory of their best friend, Megan's dead fiancée. With a little help from the Gods above, will these brave warriors find the courage to engage in a battle for each other’s hearts?http://www.amazon.com/Playground-of-the-Gods-ebook/dp/B00D2WBK5M/ref=sr_1_1

Was it wrong to be completely aroused by a man trying to break down a steel door using nothing but brute force and his own stubborn will? Megan knew she should help, but really, if Luke was determined to break every limb opening the door on the face of the cave they had found, she figured she’d better keep her limbs intact so she could fly them out of there. Besides, he was all sweaty and flushed. Not a bad thing at all.
Upstanding Captain McCadden had quite the potty mouth.
“Mother-fucking, cock-sucking, son-of-a-bitch, piece-of-shit! I did not come all the way out here to sit in the god-damned bushes!”
He looked about ready to ram his head into the stone wall next. Megan was rather fond of Luke’s head.
“Okay, okay. That’s enough. The thing is not gonna budge, Luke. Stop before you kill yourself. There’s probably nothing in there.” Though someone had to have been here to put that steel door there. Megan pulled at his arm, appreciating the tight muscle beneath his camouflage shirt. His blue eyes glittered at her, the look hitting her straight between her thighs. Gods help her! She’d been so . . . fucking horny lately.
Now she was a girl who liked her sex, and she’d had an orgasm waiting with Luke’s name on it for years, but reality told her that he saw her as Billy’s fiancée, the best friend they had lost when the enemy had destroyed their planet. Practically family. An adopted sister into the McCadden fold. Not sweaty, screaming, mind-numbing, sexing material. So she’d been satisfied just being in his vicinity and being great friends. Okay, maybe satisfied was the wrong word. It wasn’t like she hadn’t fantasized about him before. Hell, she imagined half the fleet fantasized about Luke McCadden. There was no doubt he was easy on the eyes. But it was the intensity and frequency with which it was happening to her lately that was beginning to bother Megan.
It was very hard to work with a man when fifty-nine of every sixty minutes were spent imagining throwing him down and doing deliciously bad things to him.
It was all that damned book’s fault! Damned hot-porny-smutty book! And what were the odds that there was a second copy on their ship and that, of course, Luke had it in his possession? It almost felt as if someone was deliberately trying to get Megan and Luke all worked up over each other.
Being horny was making her paranoid. Damned book should be thrown out the nearest airlock when they got back. That was a good idea, and what she’d do once she and Luke got back. Maybe she could leave it here, Megan wondered. Nope. Bad idea. What if someone found it and it got them all worked up too? That just wouldn’t be fair, now, would it? Nope, Calder. Best thing—toss it into space when they got back.
“We’ve tried brawn, which was an enjoyable show, thank you.” Megan got up from the log she was sitting on and smiled at him. “Now let’s try some brains.”
“Megan, for that to work, one of you, either the door or you, would have to possess a brain,” Luke shot back, groaning, and took her seat on the log. “Oh, fuck, am I gonna pay for this later,” he predicted with a pained expression.
“I promise to give you a nice massage.” Megan winked at him.
Luke narrowed his eyes at her.
“Now, let’s see here.” Megan stepped back, surveying the slab of steel covering the tomb. She ran her hands along the edges of the slab to see if there was a latch or an opening anywhere. “Come on, open up. Please? Pretty please? You open the fuck up right now!”
“Oh, nice. Maybe you should offer it money?” Luke scowled.
“Luke, you know what?” Megan gave him a mocking, sweet smile.
“What?”
“You’re so damned pretty,” she replied, blowing him a kiss.
The slab of stone rumbled behind her. Megan took a step back, startled. The slab had moved about an inch. “I’ll be damned.” She tried to open it further, but to no avail. “Aw, come on, damn it!” she insisted, kicking the slab.
Nothing.
“Hmm, hang on.” She stepped closer to Luke and tapped him on the head.
The slab didn’t so much as burp.
She tapped him harder.
“Ow! Stop that.” Luke grabbed for her hand. “I obviously managed to loosen it a little. Let me try again.” Reluctantly getting back to his feet, he shuffled back to the steel door. He groaned and lowered his head, not happy about continuing his assault.. He took a deep breath and took a few steps back to give himself some momentum. With a loud yell, Luke charged at the door, but Megan caught him around the arm. Luke lost his balance, dragging her down on top of him.
“Luke, for fuck sakes, I’m not letting you kill yourself,” Megan insisted, sprawled on him rather intimately.
“Aw, Megan, I didn’t know ya cared,” Luke teased and blew her a kiss.
The door slid open another inch. Megan and Luke stared at it, then at each other.
“What the hell is—?” Megan asked, but the rest of her question was cut off by Luke lifting his head and pressing his lips to hers. A bolt of electricity shot through her, and she almost missed the sound of the steel sliding open farther. Mouths locked together, their heads turned in unison to watch the door.
“Luke, this is the dumbest—” Megan said against his teeth while her hips pressed against his and her mind screamed at her to shut the fuck up.
“Shut up and keep kissing me, lieutenant,” Luke ordered against her lips. They both watched the door open a slow inch at a time. He looked back at Megan, and she heard him groan at the back of his throat.
His eyes fluttered closed and his fingers came up into her hair and . . . Ohhhh, was that his tongue? Yes, yes it was. Megan shifted her hips, pressing down against the bulge in his pants. She smiled against his mouth, teasing his tongue with her own, thrilled that she wasn’t the only one affected by what they were doing.
One of his hands caressed the small of her back, lifting her camouflage jacket and tank to stroke the small bit of exposed skin. His lips were softer than she thought they would be, and his mouth was so fucking hot. Hot and wet and tasting of apples, the yummy green ones. Megan made a mental note to get him to give her one if he had any left in his pack.
The hand at her back drifted lower. Megan was stunned at her utter lack of fear. All this time, she’d feared the two of them making a move in this direction, afraid there were too many problems between them, and yet, now that his mouth was on hers and her blood was racing in her veins, she felt no fucking fear at all.
Maybe, just maybe, it would be okay?
Maybe they could deal with all their shit and still cross this line. This wonderfully decadent line.
Hope flared in Megan, and she pressed her fingers into Luke’s shoulders. He trembled beneath her. When the need for air became too much to ignore, they both pulled back at the same time.
“Fuck me.” Megan sighed in amazement. “You little fucker. You’ve been holding out on me! Where did you learn to kiss like that?”
“Uh, Martha Shalosky. Seventh grade. Very advanced for her age.” Luke panted, staring up at Megan with a look she’d never seen. .
“Hmm, she has my thanks,” Megan said. She could still taste him on her tongue.
“Door’s open,” Luke whispered with what sounded like disappointment. “Uh . . . about what just happened, Megan . . . ”
“Can we just not analyze it to death for now? Let’s just do whatever we’re supposed to in there and worry about what to name our babies when we get back to the ship, okay?” Megan joked, her stomach tightening at the small smile he gave her.
“After you.” He extended his hand toward the mouth of the cave.
They had just taken a few steps inside the dark cave when the door slid shut behind them, plunging them into complete darkness.

“Shit,” they said in unison.

Here's a small excerpt to whet your appetite!

There were no streetlights as there was no street. Only the moonlight kept her from falling on her face as she took Alessandro’s hand and led him to the high bushes, the scent of heather filled the air.

They were close to the water. She briefly wondered if Adriano and Francesca ever came here to this exact spot. She felt an inexplicable pull to it for some reason and wondered if that was why.
Bree smiled up at him as she began pulling his shirt out from the waistband of his jeans. Her hands moved under his shirt, caressing warm, tight skin. “I’ve missed you,” she whispered. “I’ve missed feeling you inside of me,” Bree undid the buttons of his shirt, running kisses along the inches of slowly revealed skin.

“Ditto,” Alessandro said hoarsely, using her expression.

He looked like hard, silver marble as she slid the fabric off his shoulders, the moon behind him making his skin gleam.

She got down to her knees and undid his jeans, pulling the material down off his hips, letting his erection free.

Bree took him into her mouth, running her tongue along the tight, warm skin, feeling the soft drops of his arousal gather on her tongue. Her hands went to his behind, bringing him closer.

“Christ, Brianna. You look like some deliciously debauched angel down there,” he growled, his fingers tightening in her hair.

She smiled up at him and sucked harder, her own body opening, clutching in anticipation of the shaft in her mouth driving deep into her pussy.

He swore and pulled her away from him. “You’re turn, darling.” His hands trembled with barely restrained passion as he guided her onto the ground.

The smell of earth, flowers and Alessandro filled her nostrils as he moved down. “You’re like gold all over,” he murmured, stroking her skin before moving down between her legs.

Bree trembled at his touch, looking up at the moon and stars above them. The sight before her blurred and then got sharper as Alessandro’s mouth followed his fingers, stroking, piercing, and fucking her deeply. She was thankful it hadn’t rained all day, though the air was cool.

Alessandro’s body was warm and his touch on her thighs, spreading her wider, was like fire. She reached down and gripped his head. Begging, pleading…coming. As her body trembled and arched, rolling in powerful waves, Alessandro came up, covering her and pushed into her with one deep thrust.

Bree cried out, part pleasure and a slight sting of pain at her still slightly sore body. But she wanted, needed his cock like a wanderer long denied water.

“Are you all right?” Alessandro asked, sucking in his breath.

Bree nodded. “Don’t stop,” She dug her nails into his shoulders. “Oh God,”

He moved slowly, belying the violence etched on his face that told her he wanted to ram her into the ground, fuck her straight through the earth.

Bree wrapped her legs around his waist. “Oh I’ve missed you,” she sighed into his ear, rolling her hips eagerly beneath him, ignoring the hard packed floor under her.

Alessandro’s brought his mouth down to her neck, sucking at her pulse, scratching her with his stubble. She writhed against him, wanting him deeper, harder.

Bree must have said the words aloud cause his grip on her hips tightened and he drove down more violently, shaking above her.

She trembled, her breasts growing heavy, the skin and nerves stretching and filling until before Bree could warn him, her breasts burst her milk between them. Alessandro gave a start of surprise and pulled back.

Bree felt a moment’s embarrassment, not knowing how he would react. She doubted he’d ever slept with a woman who’d just given birth before.

“Wow,” Alessandro murmured, he looked down at her in question. “Do you think our son would mind?”

Before she could ask what he meant, Alessandro lowered his mouth to her breasts, licking, sucking, and drinking the silky sweet liquid.

“Oh God…Oh God…” Bree moaned, her body feeling as if it had been submerged in electricity.

His hips slowed their thrusts as he concentrated on her breasts.

She trembled at the foreign sensations. He’d never done this. Michael. There was something, elemental, primal about Alessandro doing this to her.

Bree clutched tight around his cock, feeling the deep pulsing begin in her chest and rolling downward in breathtaking waves.

“Must save some for our son,” Alessandro said coming back up to her mouth so she could taste the sweetness of her milk on his lips.

She raised her hips up to match his thrusts, which had renewed their driving fierceness.
“Oh Alessandro…I love you, I love you, I love you…” she panted in his ear as he fucked her in delicious deep thrusts.

Then he was flipping her over so that she was now on top. His cock was buried even deeper now and Bree couldn’t breathe for the frenzied sensations exploding through her.

“Come for me, darling,” he growled and she could feel him swelling thicker inside of her with impending release. “Come with me.”

Then she was. Bree arched back and cried out as she came, feeling him filling her with his orgasm and his very soul at the same time. She felt as if she was melting into him, merging, joining every single part of her body, every nerve ending, every vein and muscle with his until they were one pulsing, rolling arching body. Her body tensed and bowed forward, her mouth in his hair as she collapsed against him, feeling his thick release pulsing into her. She panted, breathless against his face as he cradled her against his body, pulling her down onto him.

“Well, that was new,” Alessandro, panted with a laugh.

They’d never come at the same time like that before. It had felt so…different, like their souls had been anchored somewhere outside of themselves, here in this place.
That’s how Bree knew. Adriano and Francesca had made love here before.
She was sure of it, not with her brain. With her soul.

Elsa Mostek Friedman has built a good life for herself and her daughter, Catherine. A life of privilege and wealth. It's a life that’s a far cry from her humble beginnings in a Polish village. It’s a life built on lies, because while she adores her husband, David, it’s another man who haunts her dreams. It’s another man her body yearns for: Catherine's father, the German Resistance spy Friedrich Weiss, who infiltrated the Nazi regime. Their love was forged in the horrors of Auschwitz and when Friedrich helped Elsa escape, it was to build the very life she has now.

Now Friedrich has returned and Elsa is torn between her love for her husband and all the security he provides, and the love she has for Friedrich, who is still a hunted man. Elsa and Friedrich have no future, but passion explodes between them, hotter than ever. And for all their noble intentions, for all their fears of discovery, neither can stay away from the other.

Elsa walks a knife-edge line between both men as she also tries to protect the secrets she’s kept for over six years.

But there are others who know Elsa's secrets and they too have returned to make sure the carefully constructed world she’s built explodes in a rain of violence and vengeance that will only be appeased when everything Elsa holds dear is destroyed.

Excerpt

She wouldn’t tell Rashda yet. Elsa wanted to bring Catherine to Friedrich alone. She felt a bit like a manipulator when she asked Rashda if she could stay behind and take care of the guest list for David and Ania’s welcome home dinner. She had nothing too big planned but she did want to celebrate his homecoming. She missed him so much and yet she was dreading his return. How was it possible to feel such polar opposite things at the exact same time?

Elsa brought Catherine to work with her and then to sign the building contracts for the school, then finally to the house. They stayed in the back yard, far enough for Friedrich to see them from his window and yet he could still remain hidden.

“Do people live here, Mama?” Catherine asked, looking at the house.

“Only for a little while longer but they're not here today. I’m gonna buy it and the teacher’s will live here.
What do you think?” Elsa asked her.

Catherine nodded. “I tink dat’s a good idea.”

Elsa had pulled Catherine’s back into a pony tail though a few stray black curls framed her face. The little girl wore a simple blue dress with white lace and her favourite black shoes. She didn’t want to dress Catherine up too much and arouse any kind of suspicion but in her own mind it was a very special occasion. Could he see her? Could he see their little girl?

Catherine leaned against a tree as Elsa lay the blanket down and set their food down. Elsa took out green grapes and set it on a paper plate and handed it to her after she sat down.
Catherine crossed her legs and placed the plate in her lap.

“Daddy’s coming back tomowo?”

He’s watching you now. Tears stung Elsa's eyes. She sniffled and blinked them away.

The little girl cocked her head and looked at her. “You miss him lots, huh?”

That much wasn’t a lie. David made her world make sense. With David there was no chaos. “I love your daddy very much.” Both of them.

“We gonna haf a party?”

“Just a small dinner,” Elsa said.

Catherine plucked a grape and raised it level with her mother’s face. “Catch, Mama.” She proceeded to shoot the grape but it hit Elsa in the nose. “Oops!” she laughed.

“You wanna try again?” Elsa asked, smiling.

“I can do it, watch,” Catherine tried a second time, but Elsa deliberately kept her mouth closed. “Mama!” she protested, giggling. “It won’t go in like dat!”

“Oh, no?” Elsa asked, pretending to be surprised.

“You a siwwy goose, mama.”

“Am I?” Elsa asked, setting her plate down on the blanket and getting up on her knees, preparing to lunge at her daughter.

Catherine sensed what her mother was about to do and scrambled to her feet. “No!” she shrieked and broke off on a run, laughing and squealing when Elsa caught her and tackled her on the grass and proceeded to tickle her mercilessly.

“Do you give up?” Elsa teased, pressing her fingers into Catherine’s squirming sides.

“No!” Catherine shrieked back. Like a worm, the little girl managed to slither away from Elsa and scrambled to her feet. Breaking into a run, she suddenly stopped and stared at the house.

Elsa's heart dropped into her stomach. Had Catherine seen Friedrich at the window? “What is it?” she asked, panting behind her daughter. No, she couldn’t see Friedrich there. Had he been there a second ago?

Catherine took a step back, coming up against Elsa. “Dunno. Just feeled a wittle funny. Do you tink da house is haunned?”

“Haunted? Why would you think that?” she asked, her voice tight.

Catherine sat down on the grass and looked up at the house. “It feels like it has eyes and it’s looking at me.”

Elsa tried to laugh but the sound came out more like a choked gasp. Damn it, Friedrich! Don’t let her see you! “Of course not. The people who live here for now aren’t home.”

Catherine placed her hands behind her and kept her eyes on the house. “Not people, Mama. A ghost. Maybe it’s a nice ghost ‘cause I’s nod a-scared. Can we go inside an’ check?”

Elsa clucked her tongue and tried to control her breathing. “Don’t be silly, Catie. There’s no such thing as ghosts.”

“Der is, too! Ewica say so. She say her daddy watches her and he dieded long time ago so he’s a ghost,” she explained.

Elsa opened her mouth to protest but closed it when Catherine continued.

“She say my Gamma Lenie and Gappy Michal watch me, too. Maybe dat’s dem in da house and I feel der eyes.”

Elsa’s eyes filled with tears. Could their daughter be feeling her father’s presence, his love for her? Elsa crouched down and kissed her. “Maybe.”

“Can we go see?” Catherine asked, excited.

“Well…you don’t want to be scared, do you? What if it is a scary ghost” Elsa asked her, feeling lousy for manipulating her daughter.

Catherine wavered, now nervous. “Hmm. Maybe nod dis time.”

“Ah, good choice,” she said, both amused and relieved. “Now let’s finish your food, okay?”

They sat and ate for another half an hour. She didn’t know if Catherine could feel Friedrich but Elsa certainly could. Maybe it was because he was invading every part of her now, her thoughts, her feelings. She sighed then, the sun began losing strength and it was getting chilly.  “We should get back home.”

“Okay, I’m gonna dwa daddy a picture fo when he comes home tomorrow. Do you tink he’d like dat?”

“Oh I know he would,” Elsa pulled her in close and hugged her.

“Could you draw me one, too?” She could give it to Friedrich.

“Okay,” Catherine nodded, getting to her feet. She helped Elsa pack up the leftover food and fold up the blanket. Before they got back in the car, Catherine stopped and looked back at the house. “Bye Gamma Lenie!” a Rafflecopter giveaway

How about an excerpt?

“Are you all right?” Elsa asked, following the limb behind a large crate.
The curtain rod fell from her hand and her legs turned to jelly when she came around the crate and met an unmistakably familiar face. His dark hair was longer, bringing his bangs into his eyes and a dark beard covered the bottom half of his face.
“Dear God,” she whispered, reaching for something to brace herself, finding nothing, Elsa fell to her knees, her bare skin brushing his pant leg.
He looked at her, awestruck, his brown eyes wide in his pale face.
“Friedrich.”
The name come from deep inside of her in a rush of shocking joy so strong it burst from her in quick exhale. She didn’t think and didn’t speak again for the longest time, just threw her arms around him and inhaled the scent of his skin. The sounds coming from her were almost like whimpers as she nuzzled his sweat dampened neck, the bristles on his face and salt of what she recognized as tears. Hers? His? She felt a hand on her back as he clutched her tight, drawing her practically on top of him.
Her only thought was getting closer and to keep touching him to assure herself he was truly there. It was as if madness gripped her and she dug her nails into his shoulders. Her mouth met his and his groans and exhalations of her name pushed into her like a brand.
“You’re here,” she moaned, kissing him again and again. She kissed his face, his nose, the dampness from his eyes, the love pulsing through her like a caged animal, clawing to get free. Love? Oh God yes…yes! The admission throbbed and pulsed through her as he cupped the back of her head and slid his fingers into her long hair, holding her still as he thrust his tongue into her mouth. My love…the words stabbed through her, deep and hard and she pressed down on his lap, feeling the unmistakable bulge there.
“Am I dreaming?” Elsa moaned, keeping her eyes closed, afraid if she opened them he’d be gone.
“No,” his voice caressed her, his fingers massaging her scalp. “I’m here, Elsa. I’m here.”
“Oh…” she whimpered, kissing him, moving to straddle his lap. “Oh God,” she cried, rocking her hips against him. “Don’t stop touching me…Please….please…keep your hands on me, my love, my love…”
His hand went to her bottom, tilting her forward, more sharply against him and Elsa came with a scream and in the aftershocks came the cold horrific realization of what she was doing.
He let her go gently and Elsa leaned back, untangling her legs from his.  She had only one grey shoe on. The other was next to Friedrich’s thigh on the opposite side.
“Can you…my shoe?” She motioned towards it and he handed it to her. Silently, she slipped it back on her foot. “How…Where…?” She shook her head. “I have so many questions I don’t know where to start.”
“Me, too,” he admitted, panting.
She studied him and realized he was clutching his arm. “What’s wrong? Are you hurt?” She climbed back on her knees and pulled his hand away, seeing no blood she tugged on the collar of his shirt, seeing a bump in his shoulder that shouldn’t be there.
“I fell…trying to hide when I heard noise downstairs.”
She cringed. “Sorry about that.”
Friedrich shook his head. “I’m not.” He looped his finger around a long lock of her blonde hair. “My God, you’re even more beautiful than I remember.”
She met his gaze and her face heated. She quickly looked away. “Did you land on your shoulder? I think it might be dislocated.” Catherine had suffered a similar injury last year when she decided she would try and prove she could fly if she wanted to by taking a dive off the fence at her grandpa Max’s estate.
Catherine. Oh God. Elsa shuddered at the enormity of having to tell Friedrich they had a child, a daughter. But did he know already?
“Sure feels that way,” he hissed through clenched teeth. “I would have popped it back into place, but then I heard you approaching.”
“Here. Let me.” She took his hand in hers and shivered. His skin was warm.
He turned her hand over and Elsa saw him study her wedding ring.
Elsa closed her eyes, feeling a little nauseous now with the weight of her guilt but she couldn’t figure out who she was guilty about, being married to David or being here with Friedrich?
“What’s his name?” Friedrich asked softly.
Elsa couldn’t look at him. Instead she propped her foot against his underarm and pulled with all her might, popping the shoulder back into place.
Friedrich let out growl, and swore as he dug the back of his head against the wall before exhaling and sagging against the wall.
Elsa took her blazer off and used it to make a sling for him. “Try not to move it too much and you should be okay.”
“Elsa,” Friedrich’s tone told her he knew she was avoiding his question.
She supposed it was a good thing. If he didn’t know about David, he didn’t know about Catherine. She knew she would have to tell him about their daughter eventually but she told herself it was just too much to deal with right now. First she had to know more about what he was doing here and if he was staying.
“David,” she replied. “His name is David and he loves me very much.” She wasn’t sure why she felt she had to add that. It felt like protection from him or maybe a reminder for herself. She certainly hadn’t given her husband a second thought a moment ago.
“How could he not?” Friedrich said, looking at her.
Elsa lowered her head.
Friedrich reached over and touched her necklace. “I see you got my message.”
Her fingers went to the chain, just missing his as he dropped his hand. “Yes, thank you. How…long have you been here?”
“Only a few weeks. My food is running out though so I’m going to have to move on soon. I just wanted to see if I could find you and see you once before I left. I should have known you would find me first,” he said with a snort.
“I could bring you food,” she injected quickly without thinking. It would be disaster if he stayed! What on earth was she thinking? The truth was now that he was here the thought of him leaving again was unbearable.
He cocked his head and looked at her carefully. “You want me to stay?”
Elsa picked at the pale blue fabric of her skirt. Say no. Tell him he has to leave. He was too dangerous to have in her life.
“Elsa.”
She nodded, squeezing her eyes shut tight.
“Was it the shock of seeing me or did you mean what you said?” Friedrich asked her, his voice low as if he understood the weight of such a confession. “Did you mean what you called me?”
My love…My love…
That man loves you.
She took his hand again and pressed it to her face, leaning against it. “Yes,” she moaned, her eyes filling with tears. “Oh yes. I love you. I kept telling myself it was something else all these years because I had to, to move on but it wasn’t. But it doesn’t matter.”
Friedrich lowered his head to hers, their foreheads pressed together. “It’s all right. I don’t want to ruin your life. Dear God, no. I’ve never wanted that. It was why I stayed away, for your sake as much as mine, but I wanted to see you at least once. I would allow myself just to set eyes on you once more before I put an ocean between us.”
